I just quit after 17 years. Was asked to be a club officer almost immediately after joining. Have been a district officer numerous times. As soon as I told my district that I didn’t want to be a district leader or club officer for 2022-2023 (after putting in 40 volunteer hours a week sometimes on my role this year) things went radio silent. I’m still technically a member through September but no one is talking to me anymore. So I moved on to another speaking organization which as it turns out is mostly people who are fed up with TM. I feel dumb being so loyal to an organization that doesn’t respect my decision to quit. I hope you find what you’re looking for. I agree with others. Focus on your speaking journey and let the club worry about finding others to fill officer roles. It will work itself out.
